Medellín, September 29, 2022. Last July, Grupo Nutresa signed the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP) of UN Women – United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women – and UN Global Compact Colombia. With this signature, the Organization commits to take measures to leverage gender equality at work, the market and the community.

These seven principles will allow Grupo Nutresa to continue guiding its gender equality policies and practices, which implementation contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals established in the United Nations 2030 Agenda, and the priorities of the gender equality agenda in Colombia.
Grupo Nutresa’s adherence to the Principles will have visibility in the Global Community of WEP Companies, a space that already includes more than 6.800 leading organizations worldwide, as well as in the National Community of which 91 companies are currently part.
This decision complements the efforts made by the Company and ratifies the commitment to generate an inclusive work culture that recognizes and values diversity.
According to Carlos Ignacio Gallego, Grupo Nutresa CEO, “this signing is an invitation to appropriate and defend the shared values of gender equity and women’s empowerment, thus contributing to the promotion of an inclusive, safe and productive workplace for all collaborators”.
Some actions that contribute to the equal participation of women and men in Grupo Nutresa include the strengthening of women’s leadership, the diversification of roles, the elimination of unconscious biases, the promotion of inclusive businesses in the value chain and all those that contribute to equitable development in society.
