Grupo Nutresa, leader in Sustainability according to ALAS20

  • Grupo Nutresa was recognized in three of the ten categories being awarded in responsible investment.
  • The awards were received by Carlos Ignacio Gallego, Grupo Nutresa CEO, in the “Sustainable Investment for Responsible Investors” conference, held by the International Centre for Social Responsibility and Sustainability – RS -.

For the second year in a row, Grupo Nutresa received the ALAS20 2016 Recognition in the categories of Business Leader in Sustainability, Business Leader in Investor Relations and ALAS20 Business Colombia. These distinctions are awarded for the leadership the Organization has demonstrated in adopting leading practices in sustainability and corporate governance, as well as in the consistency and excellence in disclosure and the relationship with its investors.

Grupo Nutresa today has more than 13,000 shareholders, with whom it is committed to offer an option of responsible investment. Thus, the central focus of its strategy is framed in sustainable development and effective innovation, with the conviction that this is how it creates value over time for its stakeholders. The high level of ownership and best practices in sustainability are also evident in the permanence of the Organization in the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index for six consecutive years.

ALAS20 is a Latin American initiative conducted in Chile, Peru and Colombia; it is organized by GovernArt, a Think Tank and Relational Counseling firm that fully evaluates, classifies and recognizes excellence in sustainability practices in ten categories from a group of finalists (companies, investors and leaders) that stand out for their excellence in public disclosure of information on practices in sustainable development, corporate governance and responsible investment.

In Colombia, ALAS20 is articulated by the International Centre for Social Responsibility and Sustainability – RS -, a non-profit entity created to facilitate alliances, synergies and opportunities through knowledge management and the promotion of the culture of social responsibility and sustainability.
