Grupo Nutresa participated in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Colombian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CECODES)!18 April, 2023
Fifteen years ago, Grupo Nutresa joined this organization as a business partner, intending to strengthen the collaboration networks and the development of collective initiatives that foster and promote sustainability from the private sector.
Since then, through Fundación Nutresa and hand in hand with the CECODES, the Organization has implemented initiatives that have enabled it to contribute to overcoming social issues while also consolidating sustainable business models that support the capitalization of opportunities and the creation of shared value for our stakeholders.
Maintaining the objective of this network, which consists in enhancing the conversation based on the dissemination and communication of successful business stories, and during the celebration of its 30th anniversary, three panel discussion sessions were held to address social, environmental and governance topics.
Grupo Nutresa participated in the environmental panel session with the intervention of María Adelaida Arango H., the Company’s Vice President of Sustainable Development, who sustained a meaningful conversation with Natalia Abello, Vice President of Promigas, and Martha Ruby Falla, Postobón’s Sustainability Director, about the organizational pathways they are following to overcome the global challenges currently facing our society.
This same event included a segment focused on acknowledging the professional careers of the country’s business leaders, where María Adelaida Arango was highlighted as an inspiring leader for her work promoting the development of capabilities related to sustainability and fostering the implementation of initiatives that address social and environmental challenges.
Moreover, within the framework of this celebration, Grupo Nutresa also participated in the publication entitled “Cambiando el Rumbo 2023” (Changing the course 2023), which showcases how the companies in Colombia are developing key success stories by means of five criteria to achieve mentality transformations and changes. This document is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, Colombia’s Vision for 2050 and the strategy of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the CECODES, based on the five criteria of sustainability.
