Nutresa, Silver Class in the Sustainability Yearbook 2018

For the fourth consecutive year, Grupo Nutresa has achieved the Silver Class Distinction in the RobecoSAM Sustainability Yearbook, after being recognized as the second most sustainable company in the food sector in the world, in September 2017, according to the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index (DJSI). This recognition confirms its outstanding performance in terms of sustainability during the last year and ratifies its commitment to build A Future Together.

This new edition of the Yearbook highlights Grupo Nutresa as the leading company in the industry in terms of social performance, and brings out its significant improvement in terms of impact measurement and evaluation, as well as its tax strategy.

Grupo Nutresa obtained a total score of 87 out of 100 possible points and received the highest score in seven of the 26 criteria evaluated, which included, among others: health and nutrition, materiality, risk and crisis management, tax strategy, environmental reporting, packaging, and human rights.

Thanks to the above, the Company continues to demonstrate its commitment to create value in the present, maintaining its ability to deliver satisfactory results in the future.

In 2011, Grupo Nutresa joined the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index and is the first food company in an emerging economy to be included. Since then, it achieved Bronze Class honors in 2012 and 2014 and the Silver Class distinction consecutively from 2015 to date in the RobecoSAM Sustainability Yearbook.

The RobecoSAM Sustainability Yearbook is the most complete annual publication on performance in corporate sustainability and on the principal sustainability trends in the world. In 2018, the Yearbook evaluated the performance of 2.479 companies in 60 industries and included the top 15% of each of these.
