Grupo Nutresa promotes innovation in cocoa farmer communities
27 February, 2024We keep making progress in the incorporation of
sustainable innovation in our communities!
The ‘Aprende y Emprende con Atenea’ (Learn and undertake with Athena)
Innovation BootCamp was held on February 20. This initiative is deployed as part of the
“Atenea, Mujeres que Trascienden” (Athena, women who transcend) sustainability
program of Compañía Nacional de Chocolates’s Cordillera brand.
The event included the participation of more than 100 cocoa farmer women from the
Colombian sub-region of Urabá, who had the chance to enhance their innovation and
entrepreneurship capabilities.
This BootCamp was organized by an interdisciplinary team created by the Cordillera
brand and Compañía Nacional de Chocolates’s Agricultural Procurement and
Promotion team, Innovation Promoters from Grupo Nutresa’s Imagix Corporate
Program, Fundación Nutresa employees and members of our strategic partner DID
(Desjardins International Development).
This scenario represented an opportunity for Grupo Nutresa to support nine
entrepreneurship projects formulated and developed by women from the territory.
After the BootCamp, the cocoa farmers will continue to participate in the Athena training
route to keep building a more dynamic, sustainable and inclusion-driven value chain.
This type of initiatives enables us to create synergies and connections with the communities
through strategic partnerships and collaborative work.
We are aware of the fact that innovation and entrepreneurship are key drivers of the
future development of both our Business Units and all stakeholders, that is why we will
continue working on initiatives that enable us to inspire the changes we want to see in the
world.
