We reaffirm our commitment to education and the development of Colombia
17 December, 2024We have awarded the first 30 Nutresa-Icesi Scholarships out of the 226 we will be granting over the next five years, with an investment of COP 16 billion. This initiative will enable students from socioeconomic levels 1, 2, and 3 in the Valle del Cauca and Cauca departments to access quality higher education in the city of Cali.
Through the Nutresa-Icesi Scholarships, we offer 90% coverage of tuition costs, as well as academic support and mentorship from the university.
Selected students will pursue undergraduate degrees in Economics and International Business, Systems Engineering, Law, International Marketing, Advertising, Industrial Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Intelligent Energy Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, and Psychology.
This first cohort is comprised of 62% women, and the total number of young participants comes from 14 municipalities in 5 departments, primarily in southwestern Colombia. These young beneficiaries have outstanding academic records, and some of them obtained scores above 400 on the Saber 11 exam.
With this program, we reaffirm our commitment to developing the capacities of young people, seeking to train leaders committed to society, promoting equity and equal opportunities, and expanding access to higher education for young people in our country.
“We firmly believe in the transformative power of education as a driver for building a more equitable and inclusive country. Our purpose is realized by opening doors for young people, providing them with the tools and opportunities to develop their full potential and become leaders who inspire and contribute to the progress of their communities and the country. This commitment is an expression of our conviction that knowledge is the foundation for creating a future full of possibilities,” said Carlos Ignacio Gallego Palacio, President of Grupo Nutresa.
