Grupo Nutresa organizes the First Social Responsibility Meeting 2023

3 March, 2023
  • Grupo Nutresa fosters conversation scenarios to strengthen the social management work in its Business Units.
  • Through Fundación Nutresa, the Organization will support the implementation of its corporate social responsibility model across the entire strategic geography and in all its business operations.

Early in the year (February 23-24), Grupo Nutresa held the first Social Responsibility Meeting 2023 with its Business Units in Medellín, Colombia. The objective of the Meeting was to re-connect the social responsibility leaders with Fundación Nutresa’s corporate sustainability strategy and value offer, in addition to conclude the formulation of the social management plans for each one of the companies, define the social goals and experience a scenario of social and environmental inspiration with Catalina Cock, co-founder and Chairwoman of the Mi Sangre Foundation.

The event included the participation of more than 30 employees from the companies in Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Chile, Panama, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Peru and United States in conversations about social trends, productivity and sense of collectivity.

Volunteering experience

During the second day of the Meeting, the attendees participated in a family-agriculture volunteering activity within the framework of the Germinar program, which is implemented in partnership with the Argos Business Group Foundation and the Compás Urbano Foundation.

Through this solidarity-driven activity, the employees benefitted seven families by contributing to the performance of multiple maintenance tasks required by the systems: weeding, fertilization using organic materials, harvesting and planting 274 seedlings and five different varieties of seeds in the peri-urban productive gardens that have been already established in the territory. The purpose of these actions is to strengthen the sustainable nourishment systems that are currently contributing to the food security and improving the quality of life of the families from the El Cañón sector in the San Cristobal sub-district of Medellín.

Collectively building initiatives that have a positive impact on our society is the main objective of Fundación Nutresa as social partner of Grupo Nutresa and its Business Units. These two event days with our social responsibility leaders, who are our extended arms in the Business Units and the territories, enabled us to bring to the table the sense of clarity that is essential to fulfill the corporate goal of deploying 1,000 projects focused on building capabilities in the communities and executing the social management plans of our companies in a timely manner.”
