Biodiversity, our commitment to the future

At Nutresa, we have adopted a clear and ambitious strategy for the conservation and regeneration of biodiversity, aligned with our sustainability strategy and corporate purpose of generating long-term value.

Understanding the importance of natural ecosystems for the food industry and humanity, our organization works on multiple fronts to protect, restore, and enhance biodiversity in the areas where we operate.

Since 2021, we have had a Biodiversity Policy focused on minimizing biodiversity loss by managing deforestation-free agricultural supply chains and promoting sustainable practices across all our production processes.

Contributions to Biodiversity Biodiversity Policy

Chocolates

Since 2019, the Chocolates Business has been part of the Cocoa, Forests, and Peace Agreement, which aims for zero deforestation to protect and restore Colombia’s forests. They have made progress in agroforestry, protecting and conserving around 5,000 hectares of tropical dry forest in Cesar, Colombia. They have built three nurseries, delivering over 7.9 million cocoa seedlings and 378,000 seedlings of forest species.

We care for biodiversity, planting a future.
